Catherine Edwards is joining the Bridgend-based landlord in the role of director of assets and sustainability.

She moves from Caerphilly County Borough Council, where she had been head of assets maintenance and repairs since April 2023.

Ms Edwards’ previous roles include head of assets and sustainability at Newydd Housing Association and team leader for voids at Newport City Homes.

James Griffiths is also joining Valleys to Coast as managing director of the landlord’s new subsidiary for development and regeneration, which will be launched later this year.

Natalie Taylor is taking on the role of director of customer excellence, while Gail Walker will become director of people and culture.

Both Ms Taylor and Ms Walker have moved from other roles within Valleys to Coast.

Ms Taylor was previously head of housing. Her other roles with the landlord include community housing manager and housing officer.

Before joining Valleys to Coast, she worked at Linc Cymru and Rhondda Housing Association.

Ms Walker has worked with the 6,000-home landlord since 2019 and held roles such as head of people.

Her previous jobs include projects training officer at hygiene services provider PHS Group and senior officer for HR and staff development at Neath Port Talbot College.

The appointments are part of the landlord’s plans to grow its offering and are all new roles.

Valleys to Coast said in a LinkedIn post that it was “building a team of inspirational leaders who will have our customers and communities at their heart”.

“We’re pleased to announce appointments to a number of key new roles as we stride forward with our ambitious plans for growth and think differently about how we deliver our purpose and vision to help build a better Bridgend and Wales,” it said.

There has been a number of new recruits in the sector in Wales this week as another association appointed two new directors to lead on development and finance.

Gareth Davies and Mair Pugh Jones joined Caredig earlier this month, as director of growth and development and director for finance and governance, respectively.
