A Welsh housing association has appointed two new directors to lead on development and finance.
Gareth Davies and Mair Pugh Jones joined Caredig earlier this month, as director of growth and development and director for finance and governance, respectively.
Mr Davies joined the Swansea-based housing association on 6 January from Cardiff Council, where he was operations manager of major projects. Before that, he was development director at a variety of organisations, including Cardiff Community Housing Association, Coastal Housing Group and United Welsh.
As part of Caredig’s executive team, Mr Davies will lead on strategy for development of new homes and identification of areas for new business.
He said 2025 would be “a year of celebrations” for Caredig, as the organisation marks its 50th birthday.
Ms Pugh Jones joined Caredig on 13 January from 4,000-home housing association Barcud, where she was assistant director of finance. She previously spent over six years at Tai Ceredigion, where she rose to become head of finance.
She is responsible for leading Caredig’s financial sustainability through the short and medium term, aligning existing resources with new opportunities to provide value for money and grow.
As company secretary, Ms Pugh Jones will also ensure that Caredig is well governed and transparent, and provide support and assurance to the board and leadership team.
She said: “I’m really looking forward to joining Caredig and am excited to meet new colleagues and to get started.”
Marcia Sinfield, chief executive of Caredig, said Mr Davies and Ms Pugh Jones’s “extensive experience and passion for the sector will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of Caredig”.
