We would like to hear about outstanding initiatves on resident safety in #ukhousing – enter the @InsideHousing and @Aico_Limited Resident Safety Campaign competition #ukhousing

The first and most important priority for social landlords is to build high-quality homes that are safe to live in. However the Hackitt Report also made it clear that in order to achieve this, it is vital for residents to have a strong voice and ability to provide independent input into landlords’ safety policies.

In 2019, Inside Housing launched a competition, in association with Aico, that sought to uncover good practice from social landlords on how they have engaged residents and worked with them to raise awareness of safety issues. The idea was to flag up the very best approaches from across the sector and then help to spread the learning.

Now we are continuing the campaign and competition to find great work in the sector and to hear more from landlords and residents who are working together.

Inside Housing and Aico would like to hear about an initiative that identified and tackled issues surrounding residential safety and engaged residents.

How to enter

  • This competition is open to all social landlords and it is free to enter
  • Provide evidence of the project including images where possible
  • All entries must be submitted online and be received by midnight 4 October 2021

In particular, we would like to hear about:

  • An outstanding communications initiative that has been completed
  • A strategy targeted at engaging residents and co-producing projects regarding safety in their home

The winners

Three winners will be chosen by our judging panel.

Winners will:

  • Have their project profiled in Inside Housing
  • Publicised on Inside Housing’s social media channels
  • Be invited to take part in a resident safety panel discussion at HOMES UK, 23 November 2021 to help share information.

We hope your organisation continues to put resident safety at the forefront. #SaferHomes4All
