The Criteria:
For this award the judges asked for evidence of (most, if not all) of the following:
- What did you do to improve energy efficiency and reduce the project’s carbon footprint?
- How did you reduce construction waste?
- What materials were recycled and did you use any “green” products?
- What have you done to improve the natural habitat around/near the project?
- Did the project help conserve water – if so, explain how, and what was achieved
- What was the site originally used for? Did you clean it up in any way?
- Explain how you tried to minimize construction traffic? Is there a strategy to reduce the use of cars etc, now that the project is occupied?
- What other things have you done to help the local economy and/or your near neighbours?
