The Regulator of Social Housing in England has announced that it is pausing its programme of in-depth assessments (IDAs) as a result of the growing coronavirus crisis.
In a short statement posted on its website yesterday, the watchdog said it would not start any new IDAs. Those that are under way will either be completed online or deferred.
The position will be kept under review.
The regulator added that it continues to expect housing providers to keep it informed of anything that may relate to non-compliance with its standards.
“As ever, our regulatory approach remains proportionate and we will take account of the circumstances, including those arising from the impact of coronavirus,” it said.
The coronavirus outbreak has put the country on a partial lockdown, with home-working advised and vulnerable groups told to socially isolate.
