London housing association A2Dominion has appointed Tracey Barnes as its chief finance officer (CFO), a new role at the firm as its executive shake-up continues.
Ms Barnes will take on the position after joining the G15 landlord earlier this year, initially in one of two top finance jobs at the company that are now being merged.
Dean Tufts currently holds the other, as A2Dominion’s executive director of finance and strategy. He announced his retirement in August, after 30 years at the association.
The 38,000-home landlord is currently being investigated over possible regulatory non-compliance, and revealed in September that it had fallen to an annual deficit of £12.8m.
The changes to its executive team are part of a new corporate strategy under chief executive Ian Wardle designed to tackle the problem.
The plan includes splitting its executive director of operations role to include a chief property officer, and chief customer officer to “fast-track” its turnaround plans.
Michael Reece, previously operations director, has taken the role of chief property officer under the new structure.
Earlier this week, the landlord set out why it was moving away from providing care services to focus solely on housing “amid the growing challenges faced by the wider care sector”.
New finance boss Ms Barnes, previously CFO at Sovereign, has held a number of roles internationally at multinational company Diageo for more than 20 years.
She said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at A2Dominion over the past few months, learning about what works and how things can be improved to totally transform the customer experience.”
Mr Wardle said: “The role attracted a significant number of high-calibre applicants, and it is testament to Tracey, who came out on top following a rigorous recruitment process.
“She brings a wealth of experience, and I look forward to continuing to work with her to deliver ambitious plans for customers.”
Earlier this month the landlord revealed that it had appointed a chief customer officer to improve resident experience and address “past performance issues”.
