In August 2023, Inside Housing began a campaign for all the main parties in the UK to commit to a major programme of building homes for social rent in their manifestos for the next general election.

Now, Build Social is calling for the new government to commit to build:

  • 90,000 social rented homes built a year over the next decade in England
  • 7,700 social rented homes a year in Scotland
  • 4,000 social rented homes a year in Wales
