It has been brought to our attention that our attendees and exhibitors are being targeted by companies claiming to be, or work with, our organisation. These companies may even use the Housing event branding in order to appear genuine.
Ocean Media Group, the organisers of The Retrofit Challenge Summit, Social Housing Finance Conference, Tenant and resident engagement conference, The Levelling Up and Regeneration Summit, Social Housing Annual Conference and Inside Housing Communications Conference, would like to stress that there are no third parties selling any products or information on its behalf.
Fraudulent activity includes (but not limited to) attempting to sell fraudulent delegate contact information and selling directory services.
It is therefore extremely important that you remain vigilant when signing documents seemingly related to the events and if you are in any doubt surrounding the authenticity of communication received, please contact your account manager directly.
The AEO advises attendees and exhibitors who fall victim to this scam the following:
Our advice is to IGNORE THEM COMPLETELY, and not communicate with them in any way. Writing letters simply confirms that you exist and are available at the address/email address/number they have for you, and therefore payment can be pursued.
These organisations have also been known to use debt recovery agencies, the same advice stands for these agencies.
If you believe you have been subject to any suspicious communications, please forward the details to your account manager.
