Vistry has pre-sold 139 of the homes to Paradigm, with the housing association offering these in shared ownership and affordable rent.

Leaf Living has acquired 56 of the homes, which will be for private rent.

Vistry will sell 46 homes as ‘First Homes’, with the remaining 129 open market homes sold via its housebuilding brand Bovis Homes.

The site, located in Kidlington, has outline planning permission.

Vistry said it is “working closely” with Cherwell District Council ahead of submitting a reserved matters application.

It said “significant contributions” will be made to the local community, including new allotments, public open space, play areas and an on-site sports pitch.

Approximately £8m will be committed to improving local education, transport and sports provision facilities, Vistry added.

Supriya Ray, regional managing director of Vistry Cotswolds, said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Paradigm and Leaf Living here in Kidlington.

“The site will deliver a significant number of high-quality, mixed-tenure homes, giving local people a real chance to own or rent a new home, whilst we will also be providing a range of other community services and facilities.”

Martyn Jones, executive director of development and sales at Paradigm, said: “This Kidlington development marks a significant step forward towards our goal of providing affordable homes for more people over the coming years.

“The government’s targets for housing during this parliament are significant, and it’s great to be playing our part in overcoming the nationwide shortage that we’re facing right now. I’m looking forward to seeing this development grow and turn into a community where people can really be proud to call it their home.”

In December, Vistry was granted planning approval for 479 new homes in Warwickshire as part of a joint venture.
