The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) is recruiting new statutory managers.
The regulator opened recruitment to its list of statutory managers on Wednesday 13 September. This list is drawn on by SHR if it needs to appoint an interim manager to a failing social landlord.
The SHR can appoint a statutory manager to a landlord when it identifies serious risks to tenants and service users’ interests.
The regulator ran its last open recruitment for statutory managers in 2019.
Helen Shaw, director of regulation at SHR, said: “We want to give people a new opportunity to apply.”
She continued: “We can appoint a statutory manager where a landlord is failing in terms of its performance and for RSLs [registered social landlords] where there are financial management or governance failures. We will only do this if we need to, to protect the interests of tenants and service users.
“We’re looking for people with a proven track record of successfully carrying out interim senior officer roles in regulated organisations with serious performance, governance and/or financial management problems.
“So if you think you have the right skills and experience, please apply. There’s more information in our application pack. We will publish a revised list of successful applicants later this year.”
Applications are open until 12pm on 13 October 2023.
Application packs are available on the regulator’s website.
