JV North, a consortium of social landlords that collectively manages around 125,000 homes in the North of England, has appointed a new chair.
John Bowker, executive director of operations at Stockport Homes, will take up the role on 1 April as a replacement for Wayne Gales, who has been in the post since 2018.
Andrea Lowman, executive director of development at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, has been appointed as vice-chair at JV North.
The consortium’s 12 housing association and local authority members are planning to build around 4,000 homes as part of the government’s current Affordable Homes Programme.
The group, which was formed in 2007, is overseeing a £560m framework, which eight modular firms were added to last summer.
Mr Bowker said he is “looking forward to the challenges ahead” and that JV North will “continue working closely with Homes England to explore ways we can do more together to help address the housing crisis”.
Mr Gales, who is chief executive of Weaver Vale Housing Trust, added: “JV North is in very safe hands with John and Andrea taking over. As a founding member, we at Weaver Vale will continue supporting the consortium to help us, and other members, deliver high-quality affordable homes across the North West.”
