Jamie Ratcliff, assistant director of housing at the Greater London Authority (GLA), has joined the board of Watford Community Housing.
Mr Ratcliff will also chair the 5,000-home landlord’s business development committee.
The committee reports to the group’s board on the association’s development strategy, which currently targets the building of 1,000 new homes by 2020.
Watford Community Housing also includes a wholly owned commercial subsidiary, Clarendon Living, and joint venture housing companies Hart Homes and Three Rivers Homes.
In his current job at the GLA, Mr Ratcliff is responsible for managing £4.8bn of investment into housing in the capital under the London Affordable Homes Programme.
On his new appointment, he said: “I am thrilled to be working with Watford Community Housing as they enter an exciting period of growth. I am already impressed by the passion and calibre of staff, and look forward to working with them to deliver the ambitious development programme, and making a lasting positive difference to current and future residents.”
