Large London-based housing association A2Dominion has revealed the list of its preferred building contractors as it spends an estimated £900m on development over the next four years.
The 38,000-home landlord has issued a tender framework featuring 35 different partners, including giant firms Vistry, Wates and Engie as well as small businesses.
A2Dominion plans to deliver 1,200 homes a year during its current 2020 to 2025 strategy period, with 40% of these for private sale.
The framework is divided into three regional lots: London and the Home Counties; Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire; and Bristol and Avon.
Each lot is split into three contract value bands: up to £10m, £10m to £25m, and more than £25m.
London and the Home Counties will account for around £630m of the forecast spending, £154m in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, and £116m in the Bristol and Avon region.
Each lot states: “Works will often be ‘new build’ in nature but may involve refurbishment, rehabilitation and/or repair.
“Works will usually involve the design and/or construction of residential properties, often mixed tenure and may also include full or partial design and/or construction of commercial premises.
“Works may occasionally involve the design and/or construction of non-residential types of property, for example schools, highways, foot/road bridges and substations.”
Additional information on the award notice states that projects will range from small infill sites to “very large” regeneration or greenfield developments, and from “high-density built-up urban centres” to “sparsely populated rural areas”.
Contracts are “likely to be” design and build format.
