A modular construction firm has opened the North West’s first dedicated housebuilding factory.
Ideal Modular Homes has opened a 70,000 square foot plant in Speke, Liverpool after eight months of fitting work.
Its production lines will run 24 hours a day attended by a 150-strong workforce, and are capable of building more than 10 units a week.
The firm claims to have developed a new system to manufacture homes which exceed building regulations at speed.
Luke Barnes, chief executive of Ideal Modular Homes, said: “We are looking to deliver at least 450 homes in our first year and are set to agree our first contracts in the next few weeks.
“By continuing to invest heavily in both our staff and our machinery, we will increase our efficiency and within the next four years, we will be able to deliver at least 1,500 homes per year.”
