Housing association @radiangroup has gone French with its name change after its merger with Yarlington #UKhousing

The new enlarged 35,000-home organisation will be called Abri as part of the rebrand. Abri means shelter or a place of refuge in French.

Yarlington and Radian completed the merger last November after months of discussions.

The areas in which Abri now holds homes stretches from Brighton to Bristol, and it is one of the biggest landlords in the South of England and South West.

The news comes just weeks after the group announced that Wayne Morris would take the role of chair for the organisation. He replaced Lindy Morgan.

Radian has vowed to build 10,000 new homes over the next decade. It also plans to invest £215m in existing stock to help tackle climate change.

Gary Orr, group chief executive of Abri, said: “As we move forward as one organisation, we are delighted to launch our new name, brand identity and strategic priorities.

“We have been working closely with our customers and stakeholders to shape the direction of Abri and understand more fully what is expected from us as a landlord and service provider. Our customers and communities are at the heart of our organisation and their feedback and ideas are reflected in our new corporate strategy.

“Abri means ‘shelter’ and that’s exactly what we’re committed to doing. We believe everyone has the right to a safe, warm and sustainable home, and to be part of a community where everyone has the opportunity to belong, grow and thrive.

“While our new organisation is growing at pace, we are committed to continuing to serve our local communities and remaining positively and closely connected to our customers.”
