A Nottingham-based provider has been placed on the English regulator’s gradings under review list #UKhousing

The RSH said the Windrush Alliance UK Community Interest Company (Windrush Housing) was placed on the list today. The regulator is investigating matters that may affect Windrush Housing’s compliance with the Governance and Financial Viability Standard.

At the time of the last Statistical Data Return, the English regulator explained that the landlord did not have a current published regulatory grading or judgement, as it had fewer than 1,000 social homes.

The landlord’s website states that it provides a variety of homes in London, the East Midlands, West Midlands and Wales.

Its housing provision ranges from general needs and supported housing to specialist care and adapted accommodation.

The landlord also provides support for people facing homelessness and general housing needs, mental health issues and learning disabilities and older people.

According to its website, Windrush Housing began life as a community-based organisation in 1998, providing a range of social housing solutions that catered to the diverse needs of the black and ethnic minority communities in Nottingham.

It was registered as a registered provider in 2012.

The last time it submitted accounts, for the year ending on 4 December 2020, the landlord reported a turnover of just over £2.1m.

Its profit for that financial year was nearly £360,000.

Windrush Housing has been contacted for a response.

Two other small landlords have also been told they face the threat of being de-registered for being in “serious and persistent breach” of the RSH’s standards.
