South Liverpool Homes (SLH) has appointed a new chief executive after its long-standing boss left earlier this year.
Anna Bishop, currently chief operating officer at One Manchester, will take on the role in mid-November.
She replaces Julie Fadden, who left in February after nearly 17 years at the helm, following a “mutual agreement” with the board.
At the time, Ms Fadden said she wanted to move on to deliver new outcomes for a broader range of neighbourhoods.
Ian Cresswell, director of innovation, technology and risk at SLH, has been serving as chief executive in the interim.
Ms Bishop has over 25 years’ experience in the housing sector. She previously worked at Riverside, where she held a number of senior positions including director of customer services, interim director of south region, as well as leading on the neighbourhood regeneration in Liverpool.
Prior to this, she was operational lead for specialist housing association Pine Court, which houses multi-racial communities.
In her current role at One Manchester, Ms Bishop is responsible for housing management, repairs and asset management.
One Manchester manages 12,000 homes across south and east Manchester.
Ms Bishop said that “reducing inequalities in communities is something that’s very important to me” and that she looks forward to continuing to “deliver on this in light of the economic and environmental challenges we are facing”.
“South Liverpool Homes has a clear vision for their future aspirations and I’m honoured to be part of this so that we can ensure great homes and services for the Speke and Garston community for years to come,” she added.
David Jepson, chair of SLH, said that Ms Bishop has lived in Liverpool for more than 30 years and therefore “has a deep understanding of our communities and the challenges that our customers, and the housing sector, are facing”.
He said that she is joining the landlord at an “exciting time” following the launch of its 2022-27 corporate plan.
“We are confident that Anna’s breadth of experience and passion for the communities we serve will go a long way to help us deliver our vision of great homes, strong communities and bright futures for our customers,” Mr Jepson added.
Mr Cresswell will remain as interim chief executive until Ms Bishop takes up her post on 15 November.
