Mitie has landed a £32m contract to deliver maintenance work for Waverley Borough Council’s 5,000 social housing properties over a 10-year period.
Mitie’s property management business was handed the deal by the Surrey council, which could see the firm manage maintenance across the area for the next decade.
The deal, which is worth £3.2m a year, will last for an initial five years but there is the option to extend for a further five years.
Mitie’s team will be co-located in the council’s offices at Godalming and it has committed to a 24/7 service, with 80% of repairs and voids being delivered through a locally employed team of operatives.
Carole King, portfolio holder for housing at Waverley Borough Council, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Mitie to move our service to an even higher level of excellence.”
