ARA Venn, the firm operating the new £3bn Affordable Homes Guarantee Scheme (AHGS), has appointed Oriane Auzanneau, a former director at M&G Investments, to lead on loan investments.
Ms Auzanneau joins ARA Venn after having spent 12 years at M&G Investments working on corporate lending and as director of its social housing team.
She has been appointed as director and deputy portfolio manager at Saltaire Housing, a wholly owned subsidiary of ARA Venn, which was selected by government to provide £3bn in cost-effective loans to registered providers through the AHGS.
Ms Auzanneau’s will work alongside former housing minister Mark Prisk and Sarah Wall, a former non-executive director at the Regulator of Social Housing, whose appointments were announced last month.
The AHGS is available to finance social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership housing in England and is expected to support the delivery of around 17,000 new affordable homes.
The government ran a similar scheme, the Affordable Homes Guarantee Programme, between 2013 and 2016. As Inside Housing reported last month, under the new scheme, registered providers will be able to borrow more due to changes around valuations used by the lender.
Richard Green, partner and portfolio manager of the scheme at ARA Venn, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Oriane to the team. She brings great experience of lending in the social housing sector and her passion will help drive our social housing strategy.”
Ms Auzanneau said of her appointment: “I am delighted to join ARA Venn to lead the social housing strategy.
“By offering registered providers access to funding at a highly competitive cost, the scheme will help the social housing sector serve its communities and deliver thousands of much-needed affordable homes. We look forward to applications for the scheme and building long-term relationships in the sector.”
