Newly merged housing association appoints acting chair #ukhousing

Lynda Bowen is due to step into the role later this year, having previously worked as LHP’s vice-chair.

The move follows the resignation of Stephen Savage, who has spent four years at the helm of LHP.

During this time the organisation has undergone major change, and the board has guided the merger of Shoreline Housing Association in North East Lincolnshire and Mayflower in Boston. The new 12,700-home organisation was formed in April last year.

Ms Bowen has an extensive background in adult social care, having worked in senior roles at Hull and Leeds city councils. Since launching her own consultancy business in 2011, she has delivered regional projects within the housing, social care and health arena.

Murray Macdonald, chief executive of LHP, said: “Over the past four years, Stephen and the board, previously Shoreline and now LHP, have overseen major change, which has included the start of the East Marsh transformation, and of course the merger to form our present organisation.

“We all thank Stephen for helping to steer that change, and warmly welcome Lynda’s temporary appointment, which will allow us to undertake a full external recruitment and appoint a successor to join us on the next stage of our journey.”
