A2Dominion has appointed Anna Keast as its new head of governance and compliance, as it pushes on with a months-long executive shake-up.
Ms Keast joins the G15 landlord from Local Space, the London and Essex-based housing association where she was head of governance, risk and assurance. Before that, she worked for Shepherds Bush Housing Association.
She oversaw governance improvement projects in both roles.
In her new role, she is tasked with improving A2Dominion’s governance structure and compliance framework.
Ms Keast said: “I’m delighted to be joining A2Dominion at such a pivotal point in their journey.
“I’m looking forward to helping lead the business through the current challenges and helping to drive through key improvements in our approach to decision-making, risk management and board oversight and assurance.
“I’m excited to be joining a team committed to embracing change and transformation to ensure we can deliver exceptional services to our customers.”
Ms Keast joins at a period of transition for the landlord. It announced in December that it would move away from providing care services to focus solely on housing “amid the growing challenges faced by the wider care sector”.
This was followed by the English regulator downgrading the landlord to a non-compliant grade for governance at the beginning of this year.
It was handed a G3 governance grade, downgraded from G1, after an investigation that was announced in September 2023.
During the investigation in November, A2Dominion revealed that it was shaking up its executive team in a bid to improve its service for residents and tackle its financial challenges.
Tracey Barnes, chief finance officer, said: “I’m so pleased to welcome Anna to A2Dominion. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the sector to the group, and I look forward to working closely with her to implement our improvement plans to deliver better results for the group.”
Just last month, the landlord appointed experienced industry figure Jude Cross as its director of specialist housing.
A2Dominion said the former Peabody executive would help “shape our direction” in her new role.
Ms Cross joined directly from fellow G15 member Metropolitan Thames Valley, where she was head of care and support.
