A Kent-based house builder has secured planning consent for 188 properties across two developments, with at least 30% affordable homes.
Fernham Homes has added the two schemes to its pipeline, meaning it will see five new sites under way across the next year.
The first site in Faversham will comprise 154 new homes in a mix of flats and houses, including 35% affordable homes.
The builder’s largest site to date, it will also feature an 80-bed care home, a day nursery, three retail units and eight acres of employment space, plus a sports pitch that will be delivered in partnership with a local sports club.
Fernham estimated that the development will create 345 jobs through the running of the care home, retail units, nursery and employment land. Work is due to start in spring 2024 with the first homes to come to market in early 2025.
The second project, in the village of Longfield near Sevenoaks, comprises 34 homes, of which 30% will be affordable. Properties will also include a mix of flats and houses and will range from one to four bedrooms.
The development will be delivered as a joint venture with the landowner.
Construction is due to start in autumn 2023.
Sean Ellis, managing director at Fernham Homes, said the developments “demonstrate our commitment to delivering a carefully considered mix of high-quality homes and facilities, in attractive locations and in line with local community need, and to creating a choice of homes and amenities”.
