Two housing associations in the South of England have agreed a 613-home stock transfer deal #ukhousing

LiveWest will offload the homes – spread across Dorset and Hampshire – to Radian Group.

The 37,000-home landlord said it picked Radian, which itself manages 32,000 homes, after a competitive tendering process and a six-week resident consultation concluded it was “best placed to deliver local services to residents”.

The stock transfer is due to complete in April.

It is the latest in a series of similar deals across the sector in the past year, with Clarion Housing Group announcing the sale of 1,175 homes in the North East to Riverside earlier this month.

The Guinness Partnership and Paradigm Housing Group are currently working on a deal to swap 2,900 homes.

Paul Crawford, chief executive of LiveWest, said: “We chose Radian Group because of their commitment to investing in communities and involving residents in shaping the services that they offer.

“Their geography is an excellent match so customers will benefit from established local services.

“Our teams are now working closely to make sure there is a seamless transition for the residents.”

Gary Orr, chief executive of Radian, said: “The views of our customers and future customers are important to us and we’re delighted that their feedback has been so positive towards the service that we offer.

“The purchase of these homes aligns with our strategic objectives for growth in areas where we are already established and have existing customers.

“We look forward to welcoming our new customers and will continue with our commitment to invest in local communities and put our customers at the heart of our business.”

Radian completed a partnership agreement with 10,000-home Yarlington in November.
