Amicushorizon Housing Group has been placed under supervision by the Housing Corporation because of the poor performance of one of its subsidiaries.
The corporation has appointed Peter Cruttenden, board member of Radian Housing Group, Rod Cahill, group chief executive of Catalyst Housing Group and consultant Peter Robinson to the board of the Amicushorizon Group.
In a statement, the corporation said that it had placed Amicushorizon under supervision because of ‘concerns about its governance and management, arising from ongoing poor operational performance within the group's subsidiary, SLFHA'.
During the period of supervision, the corporation will not give any further funding to the association, which manages 27,000 homes. It was formed in April last year, following a merger of Amicus and Horizon housing groups.
Steve Harriott, chief executive of the merged group, said in a statement: ‘It has taken too long to improve services to SLFHA residents. This is as unacceptable to us as it is to them. We are confident that we are now tackling this problem in the best way possible.'
