Stockport Homes Group has appointed the head of Savills’ Affordable Housing Consultancy as its board chair.
Steve Partridge succeeds Jenny Osbourne at the arm’s-length management organisation. Ms Osbourne recently retired from the role.
Stockport Homes said that Mr Partridge “brings a wealth of expertise” to the position, with more than 30 years of experience in housing finance, investment appraisal and business-planning.
He has extensive experience in both public and private sector housing development, the landlord said.
Along with being on Stockport Homes’ board, Mr Partridge has chaired its audit and risk committee since 2019.
The landlord said his appointment comes at a “pivotal time”, with an “ongoing commitment to placing customers at the heart of its service delivery”.
It said that Mr Partridge is known for his “dedication to amplifying the voices of residents” and he aims to ensure the organisation “remains accountable” to the Stockport community while driving positive change across its services.
In his new role, Mr Partridge plans to provide “clear strategic guidance” while “maintaining a distinction between governance and operational management”.
He said: “I am delighted to become chair and look forward to working closely with the board and colleagues at [Stockport Homes] to ensure customers are at the heart of service delivery, and that the organisation continues to learn from feedback, innovate and maximise opportunities that contribute to the borough.”
Stockport Homes came out on top of Inside Housing’s deep dive into more than 200 landlords’ tenant satisfaction measure scores.
It said it has “always encouraged feedback from customers”, using “dissatisfaction data to focus interventions”.
