Rising Star takeover
As part of her prize for winning the Rising Stars competition in 2016, Alice Smith got to sit in the editor’s hot seat for this week’s issue of the magazine. Here she is making her mark
Alice Smith – who edited this edition of Inside Housing shortly before starting in a new job as business improvement officer at Melin Homes – sits in on our weekly news meeting.

Ms Smith discusses her plans for the issue with deputy editor Martin Hilditch. She has themed the edition around apprenticeships, which are the subject of comment pieces from Chris Irons and Vanessa Howell. Apprenticeship schemes are also highlighted, as well as the apprenticeship levy.
