Housing association and ALMO moves
- Elizabeth Froude (pictured) will be the next chief executive of Platform Housing Group, one of the largest housing associations in the country. The 45,000-home organisation said Ms Froude, who left her position as deputy chief executive at Notting Hill Genesis shortly after that association’s merger, will start this month.
- Joe Cook, who left his position as chief executive of the Blackstone-owned for-profit provider Sage Housing in May, has a new job. He has filled the development director gap left at Home Group by Brian Ham, who went the other way, joining Sage as director of acquisitions. Home Group has also appointed Nusheen Hussain from Pennine Home Improvements as executive director of business development.
- David Avery is set to take over as group chair at Clarion, the UK’s largest housing association. He will leave his current position as chair of the group’s housing association subsidiary in July, at which point Clarion will start looking for his replacement.
- Colette McKune has been appointed group chief executive of North West-based ForViva. She will replace Tim Doyle at the group, which includes the 24,000-home housing association ForHousing.
- Helen White was appointed chief executive of 1,400-home Taff Housing Association in Wales. She will take over in September, leaving her positions as chair of the Regulatory Board for Wales and chief executive of volunteering charity Cheshire West Voluntary Action.
- Elsewhere in Wales, Sarah Rochira, the former older people’s commissioner for Wales, has started as executive director for housing and care at Wales & West Housing.
- Wheatley Group has added technology specialist Angela Mitchell (pictured) to its board as a non-executive director. Ms Mitchell has been a partner at one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms, Deloitte, since 2010.
- David Smith has joined Broadacres Housing Association as its executive director of resources, leaving his position as head of government accounting at accounting firm Ernest & Young.
- Ian Martin is the new chief executive of Estuary Housing Association, replacing Paul Durkin, who is taking early retirement. Mr Martin has moved up from his previous position of executive director of operations at the organisation.
- Andy Pilsbury of Sanctuary Group has been promoted to operations director for maintenance, moving up from head of specialist property services.
- Rowann Limond’s position as interim director of finance and technology at Lewisham Homes has been made permanent. The ALMO also brought in Sejal Gilliam from Brent Council as its head of people and Samuel Whitwell from Clarion as its head of performance and programmes.
- Amanda Garrard has been appointed chief executive of Berneslai Homes. She will start her new role in September, leaving Together Housing Group, where she is currently group director for neighbourhoods.
Other sector moves
- Aaron Hill and Rhea Stevens (pictured) have been appointed joint heads of policy and public affairs at Community Housing Cymru (CHC). Mr Hill moves up from his position as public affairs manager at CHC, while Ms Stevens was policy, projects and external affairs manager at the Institute of Welsh Affairs.
- Andrew Powell, previously an executive at Morgan Sindall, has been appointed finance director at developer Apex Airspace. The company has also brought in Jonathan Smart from Berkeley Homes as its head of new business.
Tom Walker, deputy chief executive of Homes England, has moved back to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to become its acting director general for decentralisation and growth.
