Housing association and council moves

Shabana Hameed
Shabana Hameed has been promoted to director of risk, assurance and improvement at Your Housing Group
  • Hakeem Osinaike has been appointed strategic director of housing at Southwark Council, and will begin the role in March 2024. Previously Mr Osinaike was director of housing at Brent Council.
  • Octavia has announced Kevin Bolt as its new interim chief executive, following the departure of Sandra Skeete. Previously Mr Bolt was chief executive of BPHA.
  • Kate Gascoigne has been announced as chief customer officer of A2Dominion on a permanent basis, after holding the role in interim since September 2023, and consulting for the group since February. 
  • Incommunities has appointed Patrick Collins as its new director of communities. Mr Collins joined Incommunities in November 2020 as head of neighbourhood management.
  • MSV Housing has appointed Steve Aggett as its new executive director of finance and business excellence, replacing Francesco Elia, who held the role on an interim basis. Previously, Mr Aggett was executive director of finance at Calico Group.
  • Jigsaw Homes Group has promoted four members of staff. Brian Moran is now chief executive and Chris Smith fills his previous role of group director of corporate services. Mr Smith was previously director of corporate services. Mathew George has been promoted from operations director – asset management to group director of asset management following the retirement of Andy Marshall. And Ivan Wright has been promoted from assistant director to operations director – neighbourhoods on the retirement of Dawn Goodyear.
  • Home Group has appointed two new directors: Hannah Howard-Jones has joined as director of asset management and Monika Lee as director of building safety. Previously Ms Howard-Jones was director of property for fund manager Gresham House. Ms Lee was previously director of assets and safety at Southern Housing.
  • Greg van Enk-Bones has been announced as executive director of finance at Honeycomb Group. Previously Mr Enk-Bones was interim director of finance and IT at Christian Action Housing Association, and group director of finance, IT and risk at Your Homes Newcastle.
  • Ali-Jarar Shah has started as finance and IT director at Hexagon, replacing Izzet Dizdar. Previously Mr Shah was director of finance at Teachers’ Housing Association.
  • Matt Cavanagh has started at Thirteen in a newly created role as chief information and technology officer. Previously, Mr Cavanagh was IT director at Cala Homes Group.
  • Shabana Hameed has been promoted to director of risk, assurance and improvement at Your Housing Group. Ms Hameed has been with the organisation since 2018, most recently as head of risk and assurance.
  • Your Homes Newcastle has appointed a new chair and vice-chair, following confirmation that Newcastle City Council will be bringing the ALMO’s services directly in house. Anne Parker has been appointed as the board chair. She has been on the board since 2019 and was previously vice-chair. Bill Tebay has been appointed vice-chair. Mr Tebay has been on the board since 2020 and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
  • Four new members have been appointed to Citizen Housing’s board: Joan Allen, David Blower, Angela Carpenter and Stephen Russell.
  • Mount Green Housing Association has announced that three new members have been elected to its board: Verena Buchanan, Justin McCarthy and Becky Slaymaker.

Helen Moore has been appointed to the board of the Home Builders Federation
  • Dolphin Square Charitable Foundation, parent company of intermediate affordable housing provider Dolphin Living, has announced the appointment of Paul Disley-Tindell and Jason Green to its board. It has also appointed Katherine Russell to its acquisition, finance and development committee and Janice White to its operations committee.
  • Homes England has appointed Shahi Islam as director of affordable housing, following the retirement of Jackie Jacob. Mr Islam was previously assistant director of affordable housing grants at the agency, where he has worked since 2013. He also sits on Inside Housing’s race and housing editorial panel.
  • Helen Moore, group director of Orbit Homes, has been appointed to the board of the Home Builders Federation. Ms Moore took up her board place in January and will attend her first board meeting in March.
