Why ‘campaign for social rented housing for all’, as mentioned in Linda McNeil’s letter (Inside Housing, 28 November)?
Why not just affordable rented housing? Who in their right mind would choose to live on an unsightly, grey social housing estate that was poorly built, with people virtually living on top of one another and with many anti-social elements?
The mantra about mixed estates is never going to come to fruition until housing is built in people-friendly areas with green spaces where people can congregate and genuinely mix.
Segregation is the name of the (housing) game in Britain and anything else is Utopia.
