Tara’s passionate drive to create a better society is embodied in her work across multiple roles, in which she addresses the topics of decarbonisation and decolonisation in the construction industry. She is founder of a small award-winning architectural practice – Gbolade Design Studio – that operates in both the public and private sectors, recently working alongside housing associations as they decarbonise their existing stock.

 

As a Mayor’s Design Advocate, Tara has been a key part of ensuring climate resilience within the Greater London Authority’s Future Neighbourhoods 2030 programme. She is on the steering group of campaign group Architects Declare, which has developed a good practice guide for architects intent on translating their climate and biodiversity commitments into tangible actions.

 

She is also a trustee of the UK Green Building Council, and is a founding member of the Paradigm Network – which has now grown to include more than 700 members – which champions Black and Asian representation within the built environment sector through professional development events and networking.
