Sarah runs her own consultancy company, More Than Words, which aims to improve the customer voice in social housing through business improvement, mentoring and training.

 

In her previous role at Lewisham Homes, Sarah led on the transfer of 450 staff from Lewisham Council, while implementing a significant repairs improvement project. This was impressive by any standard – but even more so given this was her first director-level position. 

 

Sarah has also championed several sector-wide improvements. In 2022, she became chair of a group for the prevention and remediation of damp and disrepair. Under her leadership, this group grew significantly and now includes high-profile agencies such as the Chartered Institute of Housing and Tpas.

 

Sarah is also an advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion in the sector. She volunteers for the HouseProud Pledge Advisory Board, and has helped the pledge – which aims to improve the protection and safety of LGBTQ+ social housing residents – to grow significantly over the past year.
