Housing companies operational manager, Brent Council

Luke is the operational manager for Brent Council’s two private housing companies, Invest4Brent and First Wave Housing, which provide affordable and suitable housing to those in need across the borough.

 

Over the past year, Luke has led a strategic project to restructure and reinvigorate both companies, with the aim of improving rent collection rates, reducing void turnaround times and increasing tenant satisfaction. He has built a new team and has shifted the housing officer role towards a more tenant-centric service that puts residents at the heart of decision-making. In fact, improving the lives of Brent Council tenants is at the heart of Luke’s work.

 

He has led on the introduction of several new processes aiming to improve tenants’ lives and opportunities – such as establishing a partnership with an employment assistance company, which as well as helping tenants find and secure work, will provide them with training and skills.

 

On top of his day job, Luke is the interim vice-chair for CIH Futures and has been a member of its board since 2021.
